Production Tips

Producing a field series, step by step:

1.   Produce three individual shows on the same subject and submit them for cablecast.

2.      Fill out a program proposal. You only need to fill out one program proposal per series. You must renew your series program proposal when your membership expires.

3.      Reserve field equipment and editing time.

4.      Meet with the Programming Director to arrange ongoing cablecast times.

5.      Begin preproduction, gather crew, talent, props, write script, complete talent releases.

6.      Begin production. Plan in enough advance to have each show finished on time.

7.      Begin post production (editing).

8.      Finish editing.

9.      Drop off your tape at least 2 weeks before it airs.

10.  Begin production on the next program.
